Maple Baked Ham
Ingredients:
Ham:
1 baking ham
1 cup pure
maple syrup for each 5 pounds of ham
Gravy:
1 cup maple drippings from ham
1 cup water
4 tbsp. Flour
Bake ham according to your usual method, until half done. Be sure to remove half the drippings now from pan for gravy. Add maple
syrup to pan and continue baking ham, covered, until done. Remove
cover a few minutes to brown if desired. You may use an uncovered
pan and baste the ham with the maple drippings.
For gravy, blend flour into maple drippings, add water and bring to a boil, stirring
constantly.
Scones with Maple Cream
Ingredients:
1 - 14oz. package of King
Arthur Flour English Cream Tea Scone Mix
1/2 tsp. salt
1 large egg
3/4 cup heavy cream
6 oz. pure maple cream
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In medium-sized bowl, whisk together scone mix and 1/2 teaspoon
salt. In a separate bowl,
whisk together 1 large egg and 3/4 cup heavy cream, then pour over
the dry ingredients. Stir just until moisened. Pat dough into an
8x4 inch rectangle, cut into 8 squares and place the squares on
a greased baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until lightly browned.
After removing from oven and slightly cooled, top with 100% pure
maple cream (available here).
