Our
family has produced maple syrup for over 100 years. We are
continuing the tradition at our farm
in Morrisville, New York. Currently, we are in the sixth
year of production at this new location. Last year's season
was successful, yielding high quality syrup. Our maple sugarbush
operation
consists of both traditional buckets and a pipeline
system for gathering the sap. We have just added vacuum to
our pipline to increase sap yields (learn
more about vaccuum tubing) .
We also produce a
variety of other maple related products, including
maple
cream, candy, jelly and granulated sugar.
In addition to producing maple products, Loomis Maple Homestead
is open to the public for tours. Visitors have the opportunity
to tap a maple tree, gather sap (weather permitting), view
the boiling process, and "taste-test" the finished
product (get tour
information).
